Kwakwatsi Secondary Bulk Water Pipeline Upgrade

Kwakwatsi Township, under Koppies in the Ngwathe Local Municipality (Fezile Dabi District, Free State), was previously serviced by a pumping system connected to the existing water reticulation network, which resulted in an unsustainable water supply, high water losses, and frequent water shedding. To address these challenges, a new water pipeline of approximately 10.47 km was constructed within the road reserves, incorporating 160, 250 and 315 mm uPVC pipelines. The project was completed with the construction of a 1 ML, 30 m elevated water tank near the Kwakwatsi sports field, significantly improving water storage capacity and the reliability of water supply to the community.
